We would like to have the wake up word detection allow more detection. Meaning that we only seem to get about 40% recognition of our wake up word. We have tried “robot”, “heyrobot”, “hayrobot”, “hellorobot” and many many others without better results. My son is 20 and I’m 59. We set the circuit boards on a pillow and also tried mounting in a vice (holds it very firm) and nothing has seemed to improve recognition. Our use of MOVI does not require robust rejection of spoken wakeup words, but the acceptance of any close resemblance of the wakeup word.
What can we do to increase the recognition of our wakeup word, even at the expense of waking up when it maybe should not have? We would rather it wake up with any loudly spoken English, any English, or even a dog barking, than what is does now, which feels like it’s ignoring you.
Once the word is recognized, it works very well to recognize the correct sentence we spoke, and follow our program.
Is this form monitored? Asked questions a week ago and no real response except from other users…
Even so, my son and I settled on “Play_On” as the wakeup word. Works for my son and I and not so well for his sister (both in their twenties). Also, we were able to set up a very full featured game where it remembers which questions are answered and moves on when the first 8 questions, then 16 questions, then 32, then 64… Son was impressed and we had fun. Even so, the wake up word issue makes gameplay slow down when it doesn’t recognize, and this sometimes can slow the pace, and, hence the fun is diminished.
Wake up words are voodoo. Some work better, some don’t. The user manual has a chapter on it. The longer the better and the more distinguished the better…
