I just hit the very same problem on a demo I am preparing for Maker Faire next weekend… And your fix is exactly what needs to be done.

I’m glad to hear that my use case wasn’t so unique after all. If you’re doing an update just for me with another update to come shortly after that to match the Firmware update, you can skip the interim update and roll the fix into the Firmware update version. I’m fine with my hack for the short term.
If I can find a way to elegantly add the option to construct MOVI with a HardwareSerial pointer, would you consider that for possible addition to the API? Perhaps that could be useful for others using Mega boards, and would avoid those of us that wish to do things this way hacking the API with each update.
I may try to get to that Maker Faire in San Mateo next weekend. We’ll have to see how it goes…

I created v1.02 of the API. It’s in github. There were some other places that needed fixing as well. I will push a zip file for download for everybody this weekend. This is a recommended update.
