I just got my MOVI from amazon. When I connect it with Arduino Uno R3 + 9V battery, MOVI’s LED doesn’t light up, only the Arduino led 13 keeps blinking. I tried connecting the 9V battery directly to the MOVI vin and gnd, all I can hear is a constant ticking sound from the board and no LED.
It’s just a guess, but a 9 volt battery can only supply about 500 ma for 1 hour. Noting that the MOVI manual says a 5 volt USB has insufficient power to run a MOvi board, and most USB can supply 2.1 amps. I am guessing your power supply (battery) is under powered. You might try using a 9 volt supply often used to supply and arduino board. Hope this helps.
